Meet The Team!

Owner / Lead Instructor

Kyle Thomson

Kyle has nearly 2 decades of wilderness teaching experience in 5 states. Kyle got an early start in wilderness skills in life & started teaching in 2006 to the BSA. Kyle started Wilderness Wild in 2017 to help teach people how to go beyond survival and learn to live comfortably in the wild. Kyle lives what he teaches, and continues to implement skills into personal outings and home life. Kyle's belief is that we can go beyond survival and start living comfortably through a mix of modern and primitive skills. Kyle is also an instructor at the F2F Gathering, and an experienced field instructor for several wilderness therapy programs.

Shane Linenberger

Shane is a wilderness skills instructor specializing in desert survival skills. Shane has taught at many popular gatherings like Fire 2 Fire & Rabbit stick. Shane is known for his talent in teaching hand Drill fire.

Home Schooling Classes

Give your family the outdoor time they deserve while learning valuable skills & making memories. Our Home school classes offer families and groups the opportunity to design, create, and participate in wilderness survival and primitive living skills classes!

Day Classes

Life is busy, we know how it is. That doesn't mean you cant learn the skills you've been dreaming about though! Take a day class and dive into some of the most important skills like friction fire, cordage, and traps & snares. Join an existing class or contact us to schedule your own custom class today!
