As a Freelance Instructor for Wild Edible and Medicinal Plant Classes, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to educate participants about the rich world of foraging and natural healing.
In this role, you'll design and lead engaging, hands-on classes that introduce students to the identification, preparation, and uses of wild edible and medicinal plants. Your courses will cover a range of topics, including plant identification, sustainable foraging practices, and the preparation of plant-based remedies and dishes. Your goal will be to empower participants with the skills and confidence to safely and sustainably incorporate wild plants into their lives.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver informative, practical classes on wild edible and medicinal plants, tailored to various experience levels.

Teach participants how to accurately identify, harvest, and utilize wild plants for culinary and medicinal purposes.

Offer hands-on demonstrations and activities, such as making herbal tinctures, creating plant-based recipes, and preparing herbal teas.

Promote sustainable foraging practices and emphasize the importance of ethical harvesting.

Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment, addressing any questions or concerns from participants.

Provide resources and materials, including field guides and recipes, to enhance the learning experience.
Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge and experience with wild edible and medicinal plants, including safe identification and usage.

Previous experience teaching or leading educational classes, preferably in a nature or botanical context.

Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and educate a diverse audience.

Certification in first aid and CPR (preferred).

Instructor Compensation Package
As an instructor with us, you’ll benefit from a rewarding compensation package that reflects your expertise and dedication such as:
Course and Class Tuition: Instructors receive 65% of the total course or class tuition, ensuring you are fairly compensated for your valuable contributions and teaching excellence.
Travel Support: To assist with travel expenses, each instructor is provided with a gas card, helping to cover transportation costs associated with your classes.
Supplies Reimbursement: We offer reimbursement of up to $100 per month for necessary supplies, ensuring you have the resources needed to deliver high-quality instruction.
Annual Bonuses: In recognition of your commitment and outstanding performance, instructors are eligible for annual bonuses based on performance and contribution.
